He was predeceased by: his father Jessie Willard Knighton, Sr.; his close friend Jennifer Charles; his brother Brian Gooden; and his stepfather Paul Gooden, Sr.. He is survived by: his mother Lorraine Knighton Gooden of Elkton; his pet Bella; his children, Angela Smith (Kevin) of Elkton, Stephen Knighton (Candy) of Elkton, Stacy Knighton of Grottoes and Jessie Knighton, III (Emily) of Shenandoah; the mother of his children Darlene Knighton of Elkton; his close friend Brenda Hansbrough of Churchville; and his siblings, Connie Louderback (Bill) of Harrisonburg, Patti Meadows (Donnie) of Elkton, Paul Gooden, Jr. (Donna) of Elkton and Robert Gooden (Rhonda) of Elkton. He is also survived by six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Facial coverings and social distancing will be required for the health of others.
