He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Constance H. Gilmer; his sister Virginia C. Gilmer; his children, Amanda Nott (Chris), Rebecca Bushey (Scott) and John E. Gilmer (Kimball); his grandchildren, Ian Nott, Patrick Nott, Rachel Nott, Katie Gilmer, Caroline Gilmer, Jack Gilmer and Benjamin Bushey; and his parents, John Bentley Gilmer and Virginia Dawson Gilmer.
