He was predeceased by: his parents, Clement Ellis, Sr. and Evelyn Caricofe Smiley; his son Larry Eugene Smiley; and his sisters, Shirley Turner, Ruth Smiley and Ethel Smiley.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Diane Smiley (McDonald); his daughters, Pamela Meadows (Tony) of Elkton and Autumn Bird (Chuck) of Swoope; his siblings, Clement Smiley, Jr. (Hanna) of Oklahoma and Carolyn Swartz of Mt. Crawford; and his grandsons, Caleb Meadows and Colton Bird. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
