He was predeceased by: his parents, James Lindsay and Oma White King; and his brother James Franklin King. He is survived by: his spouse Terry Davis King; his daughters, Raven Danielle King and Morgan Davis King; and his sisters, Wanda Simmons of Elkton and Lesa Meadows of Elkton. He is also survived by one niece and three nephews.

In lieu of flowers, Daniel sought to remind others to "be humble, be gracious, love your fellowman and lend a helping hand.".
