He was predeceased by: his wife Carol Lee Sutherland; and his father Elbert Joe Sutherland. He is survived by: his mother Betty Hall Sutherland of Comers Rock, VA; his children, Chad Sutherland (Jennifer) of Comers Rock and Cindy George (David) of Mt. Airy; his grandchildren, Kyser George, Myla George and Mitchell Sutherland; his brother Lyndon Sutherland (Pam) of St. Paul; his close friend Steve Lankford of Kernersville, NC; and his pets, Chloe and Snowy. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
