He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Otis Bowman and Margaret Foltz Bowman; and his wife Lois Marie Kagey Bowman. He is survived by: his children, Sharon Privia of Round Hill, Vicky Bowman of Edinburg, Steve Bowman, Sabrina of Edinburg, Richard Alan Bowman and Sue of Hedgesville, WV.; and his sister Betty Phillips of Mt. Jackson. He is also survived by son eight grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
