She was predeceased by: her parents, George Godfrey Smoot Sr. and Mary Anderson Smoot; her husband Berlin Shirley Marston; and her brothers, Harry Russell Smoot and George Godfrey Smoot Jr..

She is survived by: her sons, Berlin O. Marston (Patricia) of Woodstock, Jeff Marston (Rose) of Edinburg, Dennis Marston (Sharon) of Woodstock and Timothy Marston (Becky) of Rocky Mount; and her siblings, Mary Elizabeth Jenkins, Alexander Philip Smoot and Charles William Smoot. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
