He was predeceased by: his parents, James L. Burroughs Sr. and Norma Wallace Burroughs; his grandparents, Elmer "Slubby" Wallace, Kathryn Wallace, John Burroughs Sr. and Gladys Burroughs; his uncle John Burroughs Jr.; and his aunt Margaret B. Kellam.
He is survived by: his sister Denise Burroughs Lewis (Jerry) of Cape Charles; his nephew J. D. Lewis; his niece Kelley L. Parks (Spencer); and his cousin Joan Kellam. He is also survived by many other close friends and relatives.
