Farber of Earlysville, Virginia, born in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, who passed away on April 12, 2023, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. She is survived by: her husband Stephen Miller; her daughter-in-law Sarah; her sisters, Janet Sosovicka, Andi Donnelly and Beth Karpinksi; and her close friends, Kris Sweeney, Angela Bird, Rehabilitation and Dr. Johnathan Evans. She is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nephews and grandniece.

Karen was recognized by many national academic associations for her contributions to the academy.
