He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph B. Broughman, Sr. and Cornelia "Mickey" Frye Broughman. He is survived by: his wife Deborah Curry Broughman of Eagle Rock; his sister Darlene Thomas (Ray) of Covington; and his nephews, Michael Siers, Jimmy Siers and Jeremy Thomas.

The family suggests memorial contributions in J.B.'s name be made to: Rikki's Refuge, PO Box 1357, Orange VA 22960.
