He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Edward and Evelyn Hall Garrett; and his siblings, Mary Linda, Reva, Trish and Marvin Garrett.
He is survived by: his wife Martha E. Garrett; his children, Joyce Hamm (Jim) of Kingsport, Sue Steffy (Tim) of Gonzales, Louisiana and Edward Garrett, Jr. (Nicole Fleenor) of Dungannon, Virginia; his brothers, Rick Perry of Greenville, David Perry of Rockford, Clyde Perry of Greenville and Tom Perry of Greenville, Tennessee; and his grandchildren, Chris Dockery of Gate City, Tabatha Alvis of Gate City, Brandon Dockery of Rye Cove, Madison Dockery of Bluff City, Lindsey Roushdi of Decatur, Jared Steffy of Knoxville, Jonathan Garrett of Wise and Jessica Garrett of Wise, Virginia. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Following the COVID-19 restrictions set forth by the Governor of Virginia on face-covering requirements and social distancing, Funeral Services for Edward O'Neil Garrett, Sr. will be conducted at 2:00 p. m. Friday, April 16, 2021, in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel in Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Dennis Scarberry officiating.
