He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Carl and Margaret Powers of Virginia; and his siblings, William C. Powers and Bessie Gay Jessee. He is survived by: his wife Lois Ann Powers; his children, Donald Ray Powers, Jr. (Bessie Louise) of Dante, Virginia and Karen Lynn Powers of Dungannon, Virginia; his siblings, Ellen Kessee (Lawrence) of Bristol, Virginia and Thurman Henry Powers (Linda) of Cleveland, Virginia; his grandchildren, Ashli Nicole Edds (Jeff Jr.) of Gate City, Aaron Christopher Powers (Kayla) of Norton and Adam Lee Powers of Clintwood, Virginia; and his great grandchildren, Raelynn Harper Edds, Jaxon Elijah Powers, Brantley Weston Powers, Melissa Hunt, Jean Dooley and Dr. Todd Cassel. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Following the COVID-19 restrictions set forth by the Governor of Virginia on face-covering requirements and social distancing, Graveside Services for Donald Ray Powers will be conducted at 2:00 p. m., Friday, January 15, 2021 at the Chapel of Love Mausoleum at Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood, Virginia with Dr. Todd Cassel officiating.
