He was predeceased by: his son Michael H. Cox; his parents, Walter H. Cox and Nell Cox Thompson; and his brother Madison Lane Cox. He is survived by: his wife Sue Daniel Cox; his son Steve W. Cox of Crewe, VA; his grandchildren, Rebecca C. Daniel and Jeffrey M. Cox; and his great grandchildren, Raymond Brock, Katelyn Brock and Travis Hampton.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Clarke Funeral Home (110 E 5th Ave, Kenbridge, VA 23944). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
