She is survived by: her children, Beverly Poythress of Emporia, Bernard Allison Brooks, Jr. of Kenbridge, Carolyn Keyes of Roanoke and Curtis Brooks of Benson, NC; her sisters, Helen Irby of Triplett and Virginia Newsom of Roanoke Rapids, NC; and her great grandchildren, Gracie Hawthorne, Linda Jones, Sylvia Mills and Linda Mueller. She is also survived by her six grandchildren.
