Chieko Homan Obituary
It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Chieko Homan.
Mrs. Chieko Homan of Dumfries, Virginia passed away at home on January 6, 2023 at age 90, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Homan was born in Okayama City, Japan on April 25th, 1932. She married Ronald Homan on January 26, 1962 and came to the United States in April 1963. She became a Naturalized American Citizen in 1966 in Jacksonville, Florida. She was tremendously proud of her citizenship, demonstrating her patriotism in every election.
Mrs. Homan joined the Buddhist organization Soka Gakkai International (SGI-USA) in 1982. She was extremely dedicated to her faith and joyfully participated in their various activities as a member and leader.
Mrs. Homan is survived by her soul mate and beloved husband who she has known for 63 years, Ronald Homan. She is also survived by her daughters, Chieko Joy Homan and her son Samuel Morrill of Woodbridge, Virginia, Naomi Lynn Merchant and her husband Jeffrey Merchant and their sons Harrison Merchant and Hamilton Merchant of Spearfish, South Dakota. Additionally, Mrs. Homan has numerous relatives in Japan.
Her ashes are inurned at the Columbarium in Quantico National Cemetery.
