He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Johnson and Geneva Johnson (Falin); his wife Cathy Minor; his sister Inez Carter; his brother-in-law Jimmy Sloan; his mother-in-law Florence Minor; his sister-in-law Margaret Hickman (Ernie); and his friend Otis Fields.
He is survived by: his sisters, LaRue Sloan and Bobbie Bishop (Norman); his nieces and nephews, Anita Sloan, Annette Parker, Allen Carter (Tammy), Michael Carter (Janea), Shannon Bishop and Greg Munsey of Roseville, CA; his cousin Arlis Johnson (Kathy); his friends, Regena Starnes, Tammy Arnold, Missie Hensley, Dennis Winston, Jimmy Edward, Larry McGee, Jimmy Calhoun, David Poe, John Shupe (Carmen), Marie Jones, James Jones, Ola Mellons, Lois Cobb, Edgar Hood (Jean), Chad Hood and Jimmy Duncan (Joan); and also, Amber, Travis, Janice Fields and Samantha.
It was Johnny's request that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the Scott County Humane Society, P.O. Box 1535, Gate City, VA 24251, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. June Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or visit a patient in a nursing home.
