She was predeceased by: her parents, John Willie and Laura Peters (Lyons); her siblings, Cecil Peters, Kermit Peters, J. C. Peters and Shelby Williams; and the father of her children Bill Winston.

She is survived by: her husband Dewey Peters; her children, Patricia Massengill (Gillis), Kenneth Winston (Tammy) of Gate City, VA, David Winston (Eula Mae), Jimmy Winston (Sherry) and Dennis Winston (Missy); and her brother Willie Peters of Kingsport, TN. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
