With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty Anne Dishner Barksdale Mattson (Duffield, Virginia), who passed away on May 24, 2018 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lee Dishner of Duffield and Venus Dishner of Duffield; her husbands, Matt W. Mattson Jr. of Bristol and Russell R. Barksdale Sr. of Indianapolis; and her siblings, William Dishner, Clyde Dishner, James Dishner, Buster Dishner, Mae Rutter, Reba Hayes, Clara Hidalgo and Wanda Barker.
She is survived by: her sister Edith Aline Finkle of Johnson City; her son Russell Barksdale, Jr. of Boones Mill; her grandsons, Christian Barksdale (Savannah) of Roanoke, Nathaniel Barksdale and Joshua Barksdale of Long Beach; her great grandchild Wyatt Michael Barksdale of Roanoke; and her nieces and nephews, William Dishner Jr. of Kingsport, Clyde Dishner Jr. of North Carolina, Mark Finkle, Mike Finkle of Bristol, Priscilla Williams of North Carolina, Jean Dishner Moore of Pennington Gap, Wendi Stapleton of North Carolina, Annah Courts of Knoxville, Harvey Barker, Sheryl McKenzie, Erin Miller of Georgia, Keith, Jimmy, Terry and Gregory of Duffield.
