It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Margie Maxine Dunford of Dublin, Virginia, who passed away on January 25, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ruben Issac and Margie Cregger Viars; her husband John Clark Dunford, Sr.; and her siblings, Pete, Howard, Malcolm, Johnny, Charles Viars and Ruby Hopkins.
She is survived by: her sons, John Clark, Jr. of Max Meadows, Barry Dunford (Linda Frye) and Kevin (Betty Dunford); her brother James; her sister-in-law Phyllis Viars of Max Meadows; her sister Frances Lawson of Max Meadows; her grandchildren, Ashely (Randy Hagler), Mark Dunford of Wytheville, Danielle Weaver of Piney and Brandon (Erica Dunford); and her great grandchildren, Ethan Cassell, Logan Hagler, Sydney Hagler and Serenity Taylor.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Fort Chiswell Methodist Church (771 Fort Chiswell Rd, Max Meadows, VA 24360). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
