She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Allen Grimes and Emma Mae Winesett Grimes; her siblings, Almeta Frazier (Ray), Cromer Grimes (Helen), Evans Grimes (Marie), Cleeta Mabe (James), Doug Grimes (Eva Mae), Christine Miller and Eva Lineberry (Don); and her brother-in-law Denton Carter.
She is survived by: her siblings, Leona Carter (Galax) and Donald Grimes (Dorothy); and her siblings-in-law, Bessie Tickle, Draper, Geraldine "Gerry" Collins, Wytheville, Jerry Miller, Pulaski, Garnie East (Evelyn) and Max Meadows.
