He is survived by: his mother Carolyn Rakes Johnston; his son Douglas Tres (Johnston-Dublin); his sister Angie Goad (John); his aunts and uncles, Mary Rakes, Dublin, Evelyn Rakes, Roger Rakes (Mary), Culpepper, Joyce Johnston, David Johnston (Carolyn) and Danville; his nieces, Lacey Goad Skinnell (Tim Skinnell), Sydney Elizabeth Goad and Allison Brooke Goad; his great-nephew Judah Alexander Skinnell; and his great-niece Naomi Grace Skinnell. He is also survived by Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
