He is survived by: his wife Lydia Jane Slate; his children, Wendy Slate Steiss (Darren) and Patrick Slate (Jacki); his grandchildren, Cory Steiss and Kaitlyn Steiss; his sisters, Lucille Fogg and Nancy Slate; and his close friend Frank Leonetti.
