He was predeceased by: his parents, Dexter Ray and Nancy Kanode Stoots; and his daughter Kristy Renee Stoots. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Hopcroft Stoots of Dublin; his children, Sherry Cayton (Michael) of Christiansburg and Brian Stoots of Pulaski; his grandchildren, Carter Seagle, Jordan Stoots, Halle Cayton and Kennedie Cayton; his siblings, Debbie VanEpp (Bobby) of Pulaski and Willie Stoots (Linda) of Pulaski; his nephew Dallas Stoots; his aunts, Threcia Matney and Lois Kanode; his uncle Robert Kanode; and his great-aunt Ethel Ryan.
