He was predeceased by: his parents, Calvin Simpson Cox and Sadie Moran Cox; his son Ronnie Landon Cox; and his siblings, Leon Cox, Lois Lewis and Adell Kendrick.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Bridges Cox; his children, Scott Cox (Jennifer) of Ruffin, NC, Melissa Cook (Sean) of Danville, VA and April Yates (Michael) of Danville, VA; his grandchildren, Cody Cox, Courtney Leggett (Bennett), Hannah Cook, Jaten Yates, Blaine Yates, Peyton Lawson and Courtland Yates; and his great grandchildren, Collins, Bennett, Jr., John and Lillie Alice Leggett.
