He was predeceased by: his parents, George Edward Powell and Gladys Payne Powell; and his grandson Jonathan Wayne Powell. He is survived by: his wife Helen Gunnell Powell; his children, Bobby Wayne Powell (Sabrina) of Reidsville, NC, Steven Powell (Kelly) of Danville, VA, Connie Reynolds (Bobby) of Danville, VA and Nancy King (Keith) of Moneta, VA; his sisters, Betty Jean Booth of Ringgold, VA and Marie Burke (Carl) of Dry Fork, VA; his son Michael Edward Powell; and his siblings, Johnnie Morris Powell and Lucy Ann Powell. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren.
