He was predeceased by: his siblings, Nadine Stowe Crumpton and LaVerne Davis Stowe. He is survived by: his wife Judy Hearp Stowe; his children, Joanna Stowe Handy of Thomasville, N. C. and James "Jim" Albert Stowe, II; his wife Cindy Stowe of Lincolnton, N. C.; his siblings, Janice Anne Stowe Johnson and Melvin Clarence Stowe (Pam); his mother-in-law Katherine Gunn Hearp; his granddaughter Catherine "Cate" Louise Stowe; and also Justin Aaron Stowe of Thomasville, N. C..
