He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Amick Swanson and Dorothy Haley Swanson; and his brother James "Jimmy" C. Swanson. He is survived by: his siblings, Sue S. Robertson of Richmond, VA, Anne S. Puryear (Mickey) of South Boston, VA, Ray T. Swanson (Debbie) of Greensboro, NC and Charles W. Swanson (Julia) of Richmond, VA; his sister-in-law Nancy Swanson; his nephew Paul D. Swanson of Danville; and his niece Mary S. Yeaman. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
