It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan Oakes Yeatts of Dry Fork, Virginia, who passed away on April 17, 2021, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Mildred Lewis Oakes and Ryland Shields Oakes, Jr.; her husband James Dodson Yeatts; and her sister Brenda Winn Yancey. She is survived by: her son James Scott Yeatts (Tammy) of Blairs, Virginia; her siblings, Kenny Oakes (Andrea) of Staunton, Harold Oakes (Roxanne) of Danville, Darrel Oakes (Julie) of Dry Fork and Vicky Oakes Miller (RE) of Dry Fork; her brothers-in-law, Dinky Yancey of Madison Heights and Ralph Pierce of Chatham, Virginia; her grandchildren, Makayla Yeatts and Emily Yeatts; and her close friends, Susan Miller of Blairs, Virginia. and Chris Miller of Blairs, Virginia..
