It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Manetta Gene Layton Gunter of Draper, Virginia, born in Mullens, West Virginia, who passed away on July 31, 2023, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Harry Layton and Stella Calloway Layton; her husband Carlos Lee Gunter; her daughter-in-law Sharon Owens Gunter; her children, Harry Gunter-Newbern, Fred Gunter (Draper), Carla Gunter, Scot Samuelson (Pulaski), Lisa and Brian Watson (Pulaski); and her grandchildren, Bruce Guynn, Rusty Watson, Heather Peaslee (Zach), Carlyn Samuelson, Andrew Samuelson, Robert Watson and Adam Watson. She was also cherished by 1952 her family including her mother and father.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Draper Methodist Church.
