He was predeceased by: his parents, Buford Palmer Hancock and Maggie May Phillips Hancock; and his siblings, Daniel "Pete" Hancock, Benny Franklin Hancock, Sr., David Hancock and Velma Jane Winebarger.

He is survived by: his children, Larry Dale Hancock, Jr. (Kim), Dublin, Nancy Jarrells (Graham), Shiloh and Melissa Phillips-Draper; his grandchildren, Joseph, Jonathan (Chelsey), Jason, Madison, Ashley and Carrie; his great grandchildren, Izabella, Blaike, Blaine and Gavin; and his siblings, Dallas "Mutt" Hancock, Draper of Gary Hancock and Diane Holdren (Roanoke).

It is with great sadness knowing that I won't hear brother in law say 'hey sister in law' again in this world!! We had a lot of good discussion's about God,,Jesus and the Holy Bible.
