He is survived by: his wife Joan Gail Doss Shumate; his daughter Diana Lynn Shumate; his siblings, Bernard, Ray, Alfred, Harold, Ralph, Doris, Evelyn, Anna Ruth and Neda May; his son Brian Keith Shumate (Kim); his grandson Korey Matthew Shumate; and his great grandchild Bradley Shumate.
