She was predeceased by: her parents, Elijah Thomas and Rosie Jeanette Thorpe. She is survived by: her husband Fred Carlson; her children, Cheryl Barksdale (Tim) of Virginia Beach and Jason Carlson of Richmond; and her grandchildren, Nick, Kayla, Gavin, Kylee and Allison.
