He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Jean Deffely; and his son William J. Deffely. He is survived by: his children, Teresa Ann McKay of Hopewell, James Joseph Deffely (Reginia) of Brookline, Michael T. Deffely (Teresa) of Liberty Center, Robert Charles Deffely of Hopewell and Paul Anthony Deffely (Iris) of Doswell; and his siblings, Mary Elizabeth (Alfred Sullivan), Virginia Connors, Edythe Keaney, Marion Neville, Kathleen Deffely and Paul Deffely (Sheila). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
