She was predeceased by: her parents, Curtis Emory and Thelma Louise Rose Shortt; her husband Douglas MacArthur Shelton; her son-in-law Bobby Jamison; her brother Tony Shortt; and her great grandchildren, Brayton Wayne Miller and Aria Mae Ward.
She is survived by: her children, Peggy Darlene Shelton (Jermaine Marshall) of Richlands, Virginia. and Charlie Curt Douglas Shelton (Cindy Bostic); her siblings, Wanda Lester and Jeff Shortt (Jennifer) of Rosedale, Virginia.; and her sister-in-law Lois Davis. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.
