She is survived by: her husband Hallie Messick; her sons, Benny Messick (Ruth Lynn), Scott Messick (Donna) and Chris Messick; her grandchildren, Bailey Messick and Tyler Messick; her stepgrandchildren, Anthony Scacchetti, Chris Scacchetti, Katie Scacchetti and Nick Scacchetti; and her siblings, Lillian Lester, Arnold Short (Ruth), Bufford Short, John Short, Russell Short (Lynn) and Marrison Short (Evelyn). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews; also survived by her many co-workers and former co-workers.
