It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nell Kesler Clapp Smith of Dinwiddie, Virginia, born in Johnson City, Tennessee, who passed away on January 18, 2023, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. Theophilus Walton Clapp and Nellie Marie Kesler Clapp; her husband Patrick Worth Smith, Sr.; her son Patrick Worth Smith, Jr.; her grandsons, William Christopher Howell and Maurice Phillip Howell; and her siblings, Mary Clapp Stinson, Helen Clapp Greene, James Mitchell Clapp, Paul Bradley Clapp and Martha Clapp Hayes.
She is survived by: her children, Patricia Nell Smith, Cynthia Lynn Smith and Timothy Clapp Smith (Cheryl); her daughter-in-law Delilah Stell Smith; her grandchildren, Emily Alexandra Howell, Patrick Worth Smith, III (Lisa), Dorothy Nell Adams (Joey), Allison Smith Lewis (Mike) and Sarah Elizabeth Smith; her great grandchildren, Emily Taylor Anderson (Corey) of Patrick Worth, Smith, IV (Taylor), Madison Grey Smith, Lauren Elizabeth Adams, Megan Paige Adams and Ivy Brooke Lewis; and her siblings, Theophilus Walton Clapp, Jr. and Jean Clapp Isaacs. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
