He is survived by: his children, Lloyd M. Hayes of Dinwiddie and Geraldine Waller (Reginald) of Georgia; his aunt Joyce Nicholas; his sisters, Maxine Green, Perline Green, Augusta McKeever (Alvin) and Essie Thorpe; his close friend Alvin McKeever; and his niece Sandra Williams.
