He is survived by: his son James Booth (Deborah); his siblings, Polly Harris (James) of Petersburg, Deborah Yates of Richmond, VA, Roger Gilbert Yates (Shirley), John Yates (Sharon), Danny Yates (Sandra) and Stanley Yates (Anna); his foster brother Ricky C. Coleman of Dinwiddie, Virginia; his sister-in-law Maxine Yates; his aunt Louise Hill of Jarrett; his uncle John Hall of Dinwiddie, VA; his grandchildren, Breonna Gatling and James Booth, Jr.; and also, Amari Jordan and Tiffany Spratley Jordan. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins and friends.
