He was predeceased by: his parents, Alexander Sr. Ogburn and Pauline Starnes Ogburn; his wife Mercer Storey Ogburn; and his brother-in-law Robert Foster. He is survived by: his daughters, Judy Reeves (Jim) and Joan Chandler (Buddie); his sister Alice Foster; his grandchildren, Jason Reeves, Justin Reeves (Lindsey), Buddie Chandler III (Ashley), Matthew Chandler (Christina) and Amy Varney (Josh); and his great grandchildren, Tucker Reeves, Bodhi Reeves, Duke Reeves, Julianna Chandler, Caleb Chandler, Levi Chandler, Isaiah Chandler, Micah Chandler, Emma Varney, Anna Varney, Kate Varney and Henry Varney. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 27th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, Colonial Heights Chapel (2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834). A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 27th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory (2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834).
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Namozine fire and rescue.
