He was predeceased by: his sister Linda Sue Hamby; and his parents, Thomas Isaac Hamby, Sr. and Elizabeth Hamby-Proffitt. He is survived by: his wife Julia Davis Hamby; his daughters, Penny Hamby (Elizabeth Barlow-Hamby) and Linda Palmore (Andy Palmore); his grandchildren, Charles Patton, Jr. (Ashley Patton), Caleb Palmore (Maria Palmore), Hannah Palmore, Katelyn Patton, Victoria Palmore Flood (Christian Flood) and Greyson Barlow-Hamby; his great grandchildren, Alee Patton, AnnMarie Patton and Charli Patton; and his brothers, Michael Hamby (Brenda) and Gary Hamby (Susan).
