He was predeceased by: his parents, John Daniel Wood Jr. and Cecilia Newton Wood Branch; his son James Roger Wood, Jr.; and his brother Kenneth Wayne Wood, Sr.. He is survived by: his siblings, Gloria Wood Waycaster (Michael) of Dillwyn, Susan Wood Taylor (Steve) of Dillwyn and John Daniel "Danny" Wood, III (Barbara) of Cartersville.
