He was predeceased by: his parents, Hattie "Bubba" Sprouse Newton and Elbon "Booney" Sprouse; and his son F. C. Sprouse, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Sarah Stanley Sprouse; his children, Vickie Sprouse and Elbon Sprouse (Sarah Armstrong Sprouse); his grandchildren, Teresa Davis (Daniel Davis) and Elbon "Noah" Sprouse; his great grandchildren, Matthew and Bryson Davis; and his brother Jackie Dowdy. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Dunkum Funeral Home (16923 Oak St, Dillwyn, VA 23936). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Bethlehem Baptist Church (3808 Troublesome Creek Rd, Dillwyn, VA 23936). A burial was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery (3808 Troublesome Creek Rd, Dillwyn, VA 23936).
