She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Merricks and Helen Merricks. She is survived by: her children, Michelle (Mark) and Mark (Susan); her siblings, H. A. (Mary Lou), Tommy (Diane) and Nancy (Aaron); her granddaughters, Blair and Rachel (James); her brother Jose; and her friends, Joyce Wiseman, Nancy Eagle, Ann Cyrus and Karen Farrar. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dunkum Funeral Home (16923 Oak St, Dillwyn, VA 23936). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Union Baptist Church (2135 Austin Rd, Gladstone, VA 24553). A burial was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Midway Baptist Church Cemetery (1949 Midway Rd, Gretna, VA 24557).
