He was predeceased by: his parents, Tommy Shumaker and Berta Shumaker; and his siblings, Tommy "Teddy" Shumaker and Gladys Glass. He is survived by: his close friend Maude "Betty" Whorley; his children, Jenise Ragland (Jase) and Brandy Johnson; his grandchildren, Chelsea Bernier (Tyler), Parker Shumaker (Samantha), Cody Johnson and Liberty Johnson; his great grandchildren, Easton Bernier, Charley Shumaker and Penelope Bernier; and his siblings, Donald Shumaker (Beth), Judy Meadows (Garland) and Patrick Shumaker (Dottie). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church.
