He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Powers and Ina Amburgey Powers; his siblings, Trula Powers, Eda Bartley, Dolly Mullins, Earline Epling, Margaret "Lear" Mullins, Noel Powers and Cecil Powers; and his son-in-law Ronnie Owens.
He is survived by: his daughter Kimberly Owens; his grandchildren, Sophie and Samuel Owens of Bristol, VA; and his siblings, Glenn Powers of Kingston Springs, TN and Loretta "Sue" Birchfield of Johnstown, PA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
