He was predeceased by: his wife Helen Cumberland; and his brother Glen Cumberland. He is survived by: his sons, Donald Cumberland, Jr. (Barbara), Michael Cumberland (Laura), John David Cumberland (Kathy) and Mark Cumberland (Cathy); his grandchildren, Emily, Becky, Carli, Amy, Caitlin, Cameron, Ben, Luke and Will; and his sister Janet George.
