It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Willie Stroughter of Dayton, Virginia, born in Newellton, Louisiana, who passed away on January 12, 2025, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Stroughter, Sr. and Alberta Ewell; his siblings, Charles Stroughter, Andrew Stroughter and Sandra Darlene Houston; and his close friend Liness Chapman.
He is survived by: his wife Guestila Stroughter; his children, Lakimbie McCoy (Robert), Quantina Parker (Tony), Tammie Isaac, Shawn Stroughter, Yolanda Jackson (Toiy), Willie Stroughter III (Mary) and Carl Cormer (Jerri); and his siblings, Shirley Johnson, Lynette Patterson, Toni Lee (Don), Lamia Haggard (Greg), Joe Stroughter (Erma), Kerry Stroughter, Stanley Ewell, Maurice Ewell, Paul Bingham, Curtis Ewell (Marie), Purvis Ewell and Ron Wheliham. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three godchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; his church family.
Viewing was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Berean Tabernacle Baptist Church (405 N Hwy 146, Liberty, TX 77575). A burial was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Martin Chapel Baptist Cemetery.
