He is survived by: his wife Lorene Horst of Dayton; his sons, Reuben Horst (Maria) of Flemingsburg, Willard Horst (Darlene) of Flemingsburg and Edward Horst (Reba) of Grottoes; and his siblings, Nancy Horst (John) and Paul Horst (Sarah). He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren.
