He was predeceased by: his parents, Inez May (Phillips) and Arthur May; his wife Jane Louise May (Taylor); and his brother Norwell May. He is survived by: his children, Linda Susan Pfamatter of Rockingham, Priscilla Hunt (Jeff) of Glen Dale, AZ, Thomas M. May (Luanne) of Harrisonburg, Kenneth R. May (Jeanne) of Dayton, P. Tim May of Harrisonburg and Charles E. May (Jill) of Bridgewater; his siblings, Marilyn May of St. Croix, Jordan May (Lema) of East Sandwich, MA and Steven May (Neida); and his grandchildren, Suzanne Perl, Andrew Hunt, Kendall Linderman, Aaron May, Maria Messerley, Alexandria May, Kristin May, Jaclyn Pugh, Sarah Bode and Christopher May. He is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren.
