He was predeceased by: his parents, Adam McAvoy and Alethia Thompson McAvoy. He is survived by: his brother Anthony H. McAvoy; his wife Sandra Sampson McAvoy; his children, Tim McAvoy (Amy) and Lanette "Laney" Thompson (Bruce); his brother E. Kelly McAvoy; his grandchildren, Jessica Haney, Tyler McAvoy, Jarrett Haney, Caitlin McAvoy and Jacob "Jake" Haney; his great grandchild Riley Haney; and his former wife Carolyn Phillips.
